Update on The Backyard: Proposed Relocation
A follow-up to yesterday’s post on The Backyard’s closure due to new development in the area.
It seems there are plans in the works to relocate the venue to a larger property farther down Hwy 71, which would encompass enough land to allow ample parking and prevent developers from encroaching again.
It’s unclear if these plans mean the crisis is averted. Austin’s music fans will be eagerly awaiting an announcement of a confirmed relocation.

That’s all well and good until the Big Boxes and the Dallas/CA crowd take over that part of 71 too…. Sigh.

We had a venue back in the late 70’s-early 80’s,”THE CRAZY HORSE SALLOON”.Pat Travers,Blackfoot,Budgie,Moxy,Judas Priest,Johnny Winter,Derringer etc.It was painful to see it go but we got over it,WE STILL HAD AUSTIN!!!!
