Ticket Giveaway | See Sarah Bettens at Momo’s on July 25

by Ana Wolken on July 15th, 2008

If you’re jonesing for a little 90’s nostalgia, we’ve got the perfect show for you. Former K’s Choice frontwoman Sarah Bettens will be headlining at Momo’s on Friday, July 25th. To win a pair of tickets, comment on this post and tell us why you want to see Sarah Bettens & Co.

Bettens has been keeping busy after K’s Choice’s amicable split in 2003. Two solo albums have kept her on the road and performing throughout Europe and the U.S.  She’s relocated from her native Belgium to Tennessee and has contributed to the soundtracks for Wild Things and Underworld.

Rounding out the Momo’s bill are Jen Foster and Amy Cook. The event is a benefit for Rockin For Rescue, a great charity based out of Dallas. Doors are at 8pm and cover is $15.

Two Sarah Bettens videos below, for your viewing pleasure. First, a 2006 acoustic performance of Not An Addict followed by a video for Come Over Here. Enjoy!

Don’t forget to comment so you can win the tickets. The winner will be chosen and notified on July 24th.

Ed. Note: Congrats to reader Julie, who won the pair of tickets. She was randomly selected during a very scientific process that involved drawing a name out of a hat! Thanks to everyone who entered. Keep reading Austin Soundcheck for more chances to win tickets.

sarah bettens’ voice is like a smoky lounge: sexy, dark and alluring. k’s choice lyrics speak to my very core and i can’t wait to see how ms bettens has reinvented herself for the 21st century. i’m going to see her no matter what, but it *would* be nice to have ‘everything for free…’ ; )

My girlfriend LOVES Sarah Bettens. Ok that’s a colossal understatement. As soon as my girlfriend was introduced to Sarah’s music, she did nothing but scour youtube and itunes and the web in general to listen to every piece of S.B. music she could find. She also picked over the music tour and there just wern’t any shows we could make. And now she’s coming to Austin. Give us free tickets and let me be the hero for a day!!!

Why wouldn’t you want to see Sarah Bettens?
We (”The People in the US”) are so fortunate and lucky to catch wonderful artists like Sarah bettens in small venues like this. She is so amazing and Incredible…I have been so lucky to have seen her perform in Austin and then I flew all the way to Nashville to see her and Jen Foster. Sarah basically can sing a menu and it would sound awesome…She is just so talented…And Jen Foster is amazing as well…And both of them are sooo sweet…They don’t mind taking pictures with you and signing you stuff…I look forward to being introduced to Amy Cook’s music…

Sarah Bettens is freakin’ awesome dude! I can’t wait to see her live. I have been a fan for years and have all her cd’s. Seeing her play live would be the ultimate high for me. That memory would be my most prize possession in my Sarah Bettens collection. And to also see Jen Foster would be like the cherry on top of my wonderful Sarah Bettens sundae. It just doesn’t get any better than that!
