New Video from The Black & White Years ‘Zeroes & Ones’

New Video from The Black & White Years ‘Zeroes & Ones’

The Black & White Years have released a new video for their single Zeroes & Ones. The new-wave inspired band has included cool visual effects in the video, including a multitude of eye popping neon.
Zeroes & Ones is one of the better tracks from The Black & White Years’ self-titled debut. I think this video does it justice with its low budget indie feel and zany story line.
You can see The Black & White Years perform at the Austin Music Hall during SXSW on March 20th at 8pm. Be sure to visit The Black & White Years SXSW profile to …read more

New Video from Ben Kweller ‘Fight’

New Video from Ben Kweller ‘Fight’

Ben Kweller’s new video for Fight features the story of a tour bus driver who’s arrested. Ben and company come to his rescue just in time for a sold out show.
Fight is the lead single from Ben Kweller’s new album Changing Horses which is out now on ATO records. I’m not usually much of a country fan, but Kweller’s new sound is starting to grow on me. This video isn’t half bad, either. What do you think of the video for Fight?

New Video from The Steps ‘Dagger’

New Video from The Steps ‘Dagger’

Austinites The Steps have released a fresh new video for their song Dagger. Obviously filmed in Williamson County, just north of Austin, the video features performance footage as well as a harrowing story line.
The production quality of the video is high but I have to say The Steps’ lead singer, Will Thompson, looks incredibly bored and doesn’t match the intensity of the tracked vocals at all. Overall I’d say the video is decent, but I just can’t get past Thompson’s perceived nonchalance. If you aren’t excited about your music, why should we be?

New Video from Death Is Not A Joyride

New Video from Death Is Not A Joyride

Dark art rockers Death Is Not A Joyride have released a new video for their song, Chiffon Tutu, Dancing Bear. You can view the video below in it’s entirety.
To say the video is strange would be an understatement. However, the video totally fits the aesthetic of the song and the band. Major credit goes to director Lauren LaPage for capturing the essence of Death Is Not A Joyride and Chiffon Tutu, Dancing Bear so well.
Death Is Not A Joyride is currently taking a recording hiatus and will return to the stage at SXSW in March.

New Jewel Video Filmed at Austin’s Famed Driskill Hotel

New Jewel Video Filmed at Austin’s Famed Driskill Hotel

Though Jewel has lost her singer-songwriter appeal from the 90’s, I’ve got to admit I like the location Jewel chose for her new video Till It Feels Like Cheating.
Shot at Austin’s historic Driskill Hotel, you can catch glimpses of Sixth St. and the interior of the hotel in the video below. I’m not liking the song much, but it’s still fun to see some Austin appreciation. Video for Jewel’s Till It Feels Like Cheating below for your perusal.

New White Denim Video ‘Shake Shake Shake’

Homegrown garage rock phenoms White Denim have released a new video for their song Shake Shake Shake. Looks like some good clean fun in a junkyard. Do I detect a Jessica Simpson burn?

New Driver F Video “Temple Of Doom”

New Driver F Video “Temple Of Doom”

Local pop punkers Driver F have a new video out, for their song Temple Of Doom. This is the second single from the band’s album Chase The White Whale.
Temple Of Doom gets an A+ for a well produced video that will take you back to the days of dodgeball in high school gym class. Or in some cases, the marching band horn section.
