SXSW has released an update to the list of showcasing bands for the 2009 music festival. As always, the list is subject to change, but this update brings the total to 1,800 acts that will be performing.
Highlights amongst the new additions include Afrikan Boy, The Black & White Years, The Dollyrots, Dan Dyer, Girl in a Coma, Jean Grae, Harlem, Kylesa, Lions, Manchester Orchestra, Meat Puppets, Tom Morello (The Nightwatchman), Riverboat Gamblers, Silversun Pickups, and Third Eye Blind among many many others. SXSW has released their latest list of bands playing official showcases at the 2009 festival. This includes several bands previously released and looks to be missing at least one (Girl in a Coma?).
It’s important to note that this list is far from complete, as SXSW is still in the process of reviewing applications. The list below represents those artists chosen to date, with more on the way in the coming weeks.
