They’ve never relied on radio play or MTV for their exposure. Instead, Slightly Stoopid has built their audience through consistent touring, word of mouth and regular releases of new material.

Slightly Stoopid’s newest release Slightly Not Stoned Enough to Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid continues the band’s steady work ethic. Mainly a B-sides and rarities collection, the standout track would have to be their deep dub cover of UB40’s I Would Do For You. Other album highlights include longtime crowd pleasers False Rhythms and Sensimilla, the first time either song has been released on an album. Slightly Not Stoned Enough… also features two new songs, No Cocaine and Supernatural, which fit into the Slightly Stoopid catalog with ease.

Their appearance at ACL 2008 will mark Slightly Stoopid’s third appearance at the festival, having performed previously in 2004 and 2005.

Slightly Stoopid plays ACL 2008 on Friday, Sept. 26th at 5:30pm on the Dell Stage.

For more information: Slightly Stoopid // MySpace // ACL Festival

Image Courtesy Slightly Stoopid & ACL Festival

Post from: Austin Sound Check
