SXSW Saturday was a day marked by long lines and schedule changes. Frustrating as it was, I still got to see some outstanding music.
The day kicked off at The Belmont with Gringo Star and Manchester Orchestra. Gringo Star was competant, but nothing special or original. SXSW has released an update to the list of showcasing bands for the 2009 music festival. As always, the list is subject to change, but this update brings the total to 1,800 acts that will be performing.
Highlights amongst the new additions include Afrikan Boy, The Black & White Years, The Dollyrots, Dan Dyer, Girl in a Coma, Jean Grae, Harlem, Kylesa, Lions, Manchester Orchestra, Meat Puppets, Tom Morello (The Nightwatchman), Riverboat Gamblers, Silversun Pickups, and Third Eye Blind among many many others.
