Fresh on the heels of ACL, Austinites are gearing up for Fun Fun Fun Fest, the hip, indie alternative to the larger, more mainstream festivals. Scheduled for November 8th and 9th at Waterloo Park, tickets range from $29.99 for one day to $59.99 for both days. For tickets and more information, visit the official Fun Fun Fun Fest website.

The 2008 Fun Fun Fun Fest lineup was released yesterday evening on Austinist.com. Check out the full lineup included stage assignments here. Tickets are $59.99 for a two-day pass. That’s a slight increase over last year, but not bad at all.

Minneapolis hip-hop duo Atmosphere has announced the second leg of their Paint the Nation Tour, which includes a stop at Fun Fun Fun Fest on November 8th. The long running tour is in support of Atmosphere’s latest album When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold.
Atmosphere, comprised of rapper Slug and DJ/producer Ant, are one of underground hip-hop’s longest running success stories, building a fan base largely through the internet and word-of-mouth.

I’m bringing you my recommended shows a day early this week. Enjoy it! We’re getting some of the best in touring talent this week. My Chemical Romance, The Glow in the Dark Tour, M.I.A., Atmosphere, Meat Beat Manifesto and The Raconteurs will all be in town this week, aside from the bevy of local talent Austin is home to each and every week.
