When Slightly Stoopid rolls into Austin this Saturday, it will be to play the final show in their Spring tour. Austin has a special place in the hearts of Slightly Stoopid, according to drummer RyMo. The band gets such love from Austin audiences that they look forward to their frequent trips here.

Slightly Stoopid has played Austin City Limits Festival and at Stubb’s numerous times over the last several years as part of their road warrior work ethic. The band has built an incredibly supportive fanbase through almost constant touring and an equally vigorous record release schedule, chock full of reggae/dub influenced rock and punk.

The band’s current release, entitled Slightly Not Stoned Enough to Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid is a B-sides and rarities collection that features new songs and previously unreleased versions of crowd favorites. Though RyMo says that Slightly Stoopid does not currently have any time scheduled in-studio, don’t think the band is resting on their laurels.

Slightly Stoopid recently announced a summer tour with Snoop Dogg, which is a perfect pairing given both artists’ propensity for certain substances. Watch Slightly Stoopid’s most recent video, for the song 2 AM above for further evidence.

I will be in attendance at Stubb’s and will be sure to report back with a live review and pictures. Slightly Stoopid will be at Stubb’s this Saturday, April 4th. The show is all ages and doors are at 7pm with opener Rebelution taking the stage at 8pm. Tickets are available through Frontgate Tickets.
