This Week in Austin | Citizen Cope, Zlam Dunk, T-Bird and The Breaks & More
This week’s recommendations are littered with everything from singer-songwriter acoustic to metal to retro garage pop and funk. Citizen Cope is the lone roadshow on the list, but there is (as always) a smorgasbord of local music to choose from.
If you check out any of these show, be sure to report back and let us know what you think.
Tuesday 2/10
Southpaw Jones and BettySoo @ Cactus Cafe
Both of these acts do the acoustic singer-songwriter genre proud. If you’re a fan, this one is a must see.
Wednesday 2/11
Dead Earth Politics @ Room 710
Local metal flavored with tasty influences like Black Sabbath, Clutch & Slayer.
Thursday 2/12
Iron Age @ Red 7
Another must see for metalheads. Extreme thrash that’s not for the faint of heart.
Wine & Revolution @ Emo’s (outside)
Upbeat garage pop with a retro feel that will get you moving.
Possessed by Paul James @ Emo’s (inside)
A memorable one man band that performs an infectious blend of southern roots and bluegrass.
Friday 2/13
Zlam Dunk and Driver F @ Red Eyed Fly
I can’t recommend these two bands enough. High energy, danceable punk that all the cool kids love and for good reason.
Saturday 2/14
Car Stereo (Wars) Valentine’s Day Massacre @ Beauty Bar
Between Car Stereo (Wars) mashups and the buzzworthy featured band (T-Bird & The Breaks) this will be a Valentine’s Day party to remember.
Citizen Cope @ Stubb’s
This sold out show is a picturesque way to spend Valentine’s with the one you love. Consider yourself lucky if you snagged a ticket!
