The Sword Post Diary from Metallica Tour
The Sword drummer Trivett Wingo has put together a tour diary from the band’s recent run opening for Metallica. The Austin Chronicle apparently commissioned the diary from Wingo, who wrote about tour happenings from both legs of the Metallica tour.
Highlights include a run-in with Phil Anselmo, turd shaped Clif Bars, Lars Ulrich’s rotating drum riser, and a ride on Dave Grohl’s “Grohler Coaster.”
I was a little disappointed to see Wingo include this next bit in the diary, as I know plenty of Austin fans of The Sword who would love to see them play a real hometown gig.
Nov. 20: Toyota Center, Houston
For us, I guess this was as close to a hometown show as it gets.
The Austin Chronicle has the full tour diary here.
