Live Video | Bavu Blakes & The Extra Plairs at Mohawk
I had the pleasure of see Bavu Blakes & The Extra Plairs at ACL this year, and I was completely blown away. Soulful hip-hop with a tasty bounce, Mr. Blakes puts on one of the better hip-hop stage shows I’ve seen to date.
Check out the live video below, courtesy of my friends over at Austin Surreal. This footage was shot at Mohawk on November 14th.

This Week in Austin | O’Death, The Scabs, Dan Dyer & More
Because of Thanksgiving, this week’s show recommendations are a bit thinner than usual. Thankfully (rimshot!) what we’re lacking in quantity, Austin’s local musicians fill with quality.
O’Death is the stand-out roadshow of the week, followed by a hearty line-up of local luminaries like Band of Heathens, Dan Dyer, Suzanna Choffel and The Scabs. If you’ve got family in town for the holiday, be sure to take them to a show. It wouldn’t be an Austin Thanksgiving without a little live music to go with all that fried turkey.

New Videos from Driver F
Austin pop-punkers Driver F have posted a couple new videos for your viewing pleasure. My favorite of the two is Driver F in The Studio, where you can see drummer Jeremi laying down the beats for Temple of Doom.
The second video is a tour blog from the band’s recent We Mustache You To Come To Our Show Tour. Be sure to watch for all the thrills and (wakeboarding) spills from the road.
Driver F is featured on Austin Sound Check’s compilation, Feedback Vol. 1, available for free download here.
