Ghostland Observatory “Club Soda” on Sims 2 Soundtrack

Ghostland Observatory’s song Club Soda, will appear on the upcoming Sims 2 expansion pack, Apartment Life. If you’re not a big gamer this may not be very exciting news, but rest assured it’s another sign of a changing music industry.

Austin artists like Ghostland Observatory and Lions have capitalized on new media and the exposure it brings. The demise of corporate conglomerate record labels has opened many doors for independent artists. Lions appeared on Guitar Hero III with their song Metal Heavy Lady and have gone on to tour as opening support for the legendary Toadies.

Reaching fans in new formats like video game soundtracks is the wave of the future. Hopefully Ghostland Observatory can parlay the Sims 2 Soundtrack into bigger and better opportunities.
