Electric Touch | Debut Album, Playing ACL, Tour with The Fratellis

Austin transplants Electric Touch have seemingly come out of nowhere with a host of exciting developments. Their self-titled debut album is set for release on August 26th via Houston-based Justice Records. Touring in support of the album includes slots at Lollapalooza and the Austin City Limits Festival as well as a run of dates opening for The Fratellis.

Batfest Lineup Announced | Flobots, Ludo, Cruiserweight & More

The lineup for Batfest 2008 was announced today and includes Flobots, Ludo, The Steps and Supersuckers. Austin music is represented well by Carolyn Wonderland, Cruiserweight and Alpha Rev.
This is the fourth annual Batfest, scheduled for Saturday August 30th and Sunday August 31st.  The music will be divided amongst two stages, one on either end of the Ann Richards Congress Ave. bridge.
Tickets are a low, low $5 each day and will be available at the gate. For more information, visit the Batfest website.

Free Lions Show this Saturday

Lions are playing a free show this Saturday at Camel House (604 E. 6th). Tickets are required to secure entrance and can be picked up from the bartenders at Trophy’s.
As if free entrance wasn’t enough, Lions is also promising free food, free beer, free smokes and free Lions merch. The catch (because there’s always a catch) is that Camel House is an extremely small venue, so get your tickets while they’re still available.

Road Trip | Austin Music Dominates South Padre International Music Fest

If you’re an Austin music fan in need of a getaway, look no further than the 2008 South Padre International Music Fest. The Festival takes place from October 31 through November 2 and is spread out over ten venues across the island.
The lineup is packed with Austin musicians, including Willie Nelson, Ghostland Observatory, Alejandro Escovedo, Del Castillo, Grupo Fantasma, Fastball, Guy Forsyth, Vallejo, and Suzanna Choffel. The full lineup for Fun Fun Fun Fest 2008 is not scheduled for release until August, but early leaks have sprung in the blogosphere. Several “D” names have emerged, including Dead Milkmen, DOA, Dan Deacon, Deerhoof and DJ Z-Trip. Minus The Bear and reclusive Austinites …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead are also expected to perform.
This will be the third consecutive year for FFF Fest. Tickets were around $50 last year for two days of music. Tickets for this year’s fest will go on sale in September, with the festival scheduled for November 8 & 9 …read more

ACL Festival 3-Day Passes Sold Out

ACL Festival promoter C3 Presents announced today that 3 day passes for the festival are sold out. Single day tickets are still available on ACL’s website.
This years headliners include Foo Fighters, Robert Plant & Allison Kraus, Beck and The Raconteurs, however it’s the mid-level bands that really make ACL 2008 special. Against Me!, Stars, Tegan & Sarah, Silversun Pickups and Slightly Stoopid are just a handful of the acts to look forward to.
