Promises kept, broken, reneged upon, etc, it doesn't matter. The last thing that sane people want to see is some huge monstrosity erected near Austin's crown jewel, Barton Springs. I will continue to boycott and encourage others to boycott his businesses.

I'm with Zilker Dude. I sometimes grow tired of all of the development in Austin but the company did everything legally and worked to relocate certain trees at other properties.

I enjoy Marsha Ball as a musician - however, I think her remarks, especially at a public venue like Blues on the Green, require her to apologize to Mr. Engle.

If she does that, then she's another cool musician - if not, she's just another self absorbed person who believes her opinion outweighs her fans and the community because she can sing and write songs.

According to the President of the Zilker Neighborhood Association, Marcia Ball is wrong.

According to a message that went out on our neighborhood listserve this weekend, Austin Java and the Barton Place developers have NOT reneged on any promises in regards to the trees or anything else.

If true, Marcia Ball should apologize for the damage she has done to a local business owner.
