Driver F’s new album Chase the White Whale is ten tracks of pure alt-pop goodness. What will ultimately win you over is the pleading, love-stricken vocals that are reminiscent of Jimmy Eat World. But vocals is where the JEW comparison begins and ends, as Driver F very effectively incorporates a horn section (trumpet & trombone) that will please fans of 90’s ska. Elements of pop punk create a very peppy, upbeat sound that Driver F executes very well. I highly recommend Suncrusher and Two Words, Mr. President… Plausible Deniability. Driver F is heading out on a national tour this summer, starting with a tour kickoff show at Red Eyed Fly in Austin, tomorrow 6/27. Also on the bill is local favorite and Doghouse Records artist, Cruiserweight. Driver F has dubbed their tour “We Mustache You To Come To Our Show Tour” and is encouraging fans to join them in growing their facial hair out as Driver F crosses the nation.
