Bun B of UGK drops II Trill, playing Emo’s Wednesday
Bun B is still relatively unknown in the mainstream, even after all the attention he and UGK (Underground Kingz) gained after the untimely death of UGK partner Pimp C. As UGK, the duo owned the Texas underground rap scene since 1987. Their first album came in 1992, and by 2000 UGK was working with artists like Three 6 Mafia and Jay-Z. Even guesting on Jay-Z’s hit Big Pimpin.
Bun B’s new album II Trill comes out tomorrow, 5/20 and is one of the most anticipated albums of the year. It’s the followup to his solo debut, Trill and features guest spots from Sean Kingston, Lil Wayne, David Banner, Lupe Fiasco and Mya as well as a tribute to Pimp C.
As previously mentioned, Bun B will be in Austin on Wednesday for an in-store at Music Mania followed by his show at Emo’s. Visit Emo’s website for more information and tickets. Poster courtesy of AustinSurreal is below.
